Dental Hygienist
Role of the hygienist
Visiting the hygienist at our Harefield dental practice is important in helping to ensure that your teeth and gums remain healthy.
Our experienced, friendly hygienists at Village Dental help to protect your oral health in a number of ways.

Prevention
Through observation of the oral cavity, our hygienists will offer appropriate advice and education regarding your oral health. This may involve advice about diet, or how to floss your teeth correctly, for example.
This education is especially important for children and teenagers, for whom, establishing good habits early on in life, will help them maintain healthy teeth and gums through their adult years.
Gum disease
One of the most important roles played by the hygienist is in the management and prevention of gum disease.
Whilst education plays an important role in preventative care; the hygienist is also able to perform minor dental procedures, such as a scale and polish to remove hardened plaque and tartar; both of which contribute to gum disease.
To ensure that your family’s oral health remains in good condition, please make sure to visit the hygienist at Village Dental regularly. We’ll be pleased to offer advice and treatment to help keep your teeth and gums in great shape!
